Just a second...

Updating your licence file

You can update your Diffusion™ licence file without having to restart the Diffusion server. Copy the new file over the old and ensure that the timestamp is updated.

Obtain a new or renewed licence file from DiffusionData.
When your licence file expires, the Diffusion server continues to run for another day before it stops. We recommend you update your licence file before your existing licence file expires.
  1. Copy the new licence file (license.lic) over the existing file in the diffusion_directory/etc directory.
You do not need to stop or restart the server.
Note that in versions before Diffusion 6.6, the licence filename was licence.lic. Versions 6.6 and above will look for a licence file called license.lic first, and if that file does not exist, licence.lic will be used if it is present.
  2. Check that the timestamp of license.lic has updated.
    • On Windows™ , you might have to use the following command to copy the file over and force the timestamp to update: COPY /B license.lic +,,
  3. Diffusion checks the timestamp of the license.lic every minute. If the licence file has been updated, Diffusion reloads it and logs this to stdout.
  4. You can verify that the licence file has been updated in the server by accessing the mbean com.pushtechnology.diffusion > Server > LicenseExpiryDate
